Thank you

When I began this blog some 5 or 6 years ago, it sprang from me “having something on my heart.” At the time I really didn’t know what… well, maybe except from me wanting to tell my story.

If that makes sense.

My first posts were up and around. Dancing around the pit of that time: Stress!

I got a lot of therapeutic writing out which was great. But after that I had a long long time of no posting. Not really sure why though but I suppose I just needed some space to grow. Emotionally. Rest after stressing… Learning to see the signs of stress and acting upon them. That last part – Yeah, VERY important part!

Here I am 5 years later – and +850 followers. WOW! OozX1_f-maxage-0

I need to say thank you – for following me and my journey, for loving and praying me through the best and worst of times. You are amazing out there in the blogosphere!

I’m still writing my book about Joy and Liz. It’s an amazing journey to walk in your mind – writing a book I mean. A story. Lives woven together.

Thanks for sticking with me!  I pray the Lord will fill each and every one of you with plenty of Joy!

Christmas Joy Break

I can’t say that I have given this much thought – and maybe I’ll sorely regret it… But I think I want to take a short break from my blog.
I know – that does NOT sound like me…
But as I’m sitting here writing this I’m feeling such peace and joyful calm.

home-pencil

The last 2 blog posts named “Love Stuck” are actually depicting true events. Names have been changed “to protect the innocent” – ha ha… and I truly can’t wait to see what the Lord really does have on His heart for “Joy” and I. If anything at all…
But the posts sparked my imagination and I’m thinking that I’d like to give it a go.
It, being actually write the novel.
I have no idea if I can master doing it, but I’d like to try.

Prayers, hints, advice and good ideas are all very welcomed.

And… I’ll probably stay updated on the blog so I won’t be completely vanished, just perhaps “out of order” for a bit.

Thank you for loving me.

2017 – Awards & Blogs

blogger-recognition-awardDuring this year my blogs, Wrestling with Faith – Dancing with Jesus and Song of Virginity, has both been nominated for several blog awards.

My heart skips a beat when I receive a blog award… I humbly accept and feel proud inside that someone actually like my blogs – and like them enough to want more people to read them. Truly, I’m humbly proud!

sunshine-blogger-awardThough I wrote down the blog award names, I have over time lost track of who nominated me with which award… I’m so sorry! – But instead of spending days searching for the good people and their blogs, I will happily accept the awards, post the logo on my blog and post below my own personal favorite blogs to read and contemplate:

Too fat to love

The Abuse Expose’ with Secret Angel

Minkyweasel World

Beauty Beyond Bones

Gail Loves God

Living in the Corner of a Vortex

Running the Race

Josephs Daily Walk with Jesus

Tripping over Typeset

These are mentioned in no particular order… But each blog can consider themselves nominated for any of the 3 awards shown in this post!

Just to sum things up, I have two blogs which I would like to share with the world. One has helped me beyond imagination in terms of cooking for dietary needs and continues to do so:

The Stonesoup

And the online shop that gives me access to get the dietary ingredients needed (which hasn’t yet found way in Japan):

iHerb

iHerb has been a “life saver” for me more than once and offers a variety of things within foods and household items (with free shipping to Japan!). If you go visit and decide to sign up, you can get 5-10% off your first purchase if you jot in my code:  ZRV661 – thank you!

Meanwhile…

I once told myself that I wouldn’t be posting “nonsense” posts on my blog. That all posts would have a purpose.CcMGoWaUMAAEAdG I think I’ve been pretty good with keeping that…
However, my last post was a while back and I think I owe it to those who follow this blog, to let you know that I’m still here.

We had an absolutely amazing trip to Australia and I can’t wait to post some photos!

dirty-stove-homeschool

After the summer, we got busy as life generally does and then we began the journey of homeschooling… The first 2 weeks I was all over the place and the following weeks has been full of adjustments. I’ll get back to that in a different post.

When I finally reached the point where I felt more relaxed in our new situation, I managed to trip and strained my neck – possibly had a mild whiplash – but thankfully, it feels like it has subsided again and I’m back to normal.

“No stress” is top priority and in case you’d like to know:
I’m still not afraid!! Please see previous post for more info on that…

reject jesusI do have concerns about my daughter as she continues to avoid social things, continues the cutting and is refusing treatment – while still refusing Jesus. At the same time, she is more relaxed with the homeschooling situation, so things do look brighter and we don’t have the same stress we did before.

Thanks for reading. I just wanted to keep you up to date and I do so hope I will be able to post another more purposeful post in the very near future.

Praise the Lord of us all!

The Versatile blogger award

Thank you very much to Lisa from I will not stay silent who nominated me for the Versatile blogging award. I’m both proud and humbled at the same time!versatile-blogger-award.jpg

The rules are simple:

Rule #1 – You must thank the person that nominated you for the award and then provide a link to their blog site.
Rule #2 – Nominate at least 10 bloggers of your choice and provide links to their blogs.
Rule #3 – Share 7 facts about yourself.

I nominate the following (not listed in personal favorite order):

Following Him besides still waters

Woman for Jesus

Unashamed of Jesus

Laughter: Carbonated Grace

Unshakable hope

23 Thorns

You, me and this world

Shattered in Him

The Dove web

In the desert with Jesus

Here comes 7 facts about me… Though I truly can’t imagine why that would be interesting reading for anyone, but I like the number 7…

#1 – My first blog post Stress – first signs was posted on May 10th 2013. Almost 4 years ago. My blog is about my dance with Jesus – doing life with God and oftentimes wrestling with faith. I enjoy blogging because it allows me to open for subjects which could be closed issues, expand on ideas and thoughts and the best part is that people can choose to read – or not.

#2 – My side-blog Song of Virginity had it’s first post on June 18th 2016 and I’m sorely proud of that blog! It’s an outreach blog for the youth of today. It talks about ALL the issues of virginity and sex, the why not, if not, how not etc. I have had several beautiful posts from guest bloggers and I’m very proud of each and every one of them. It talks and deals openly with issues that, I have found, many wants to keep silent about. However, I’m a firm believer in open honesty and by sharing stories, we just might be able to help a young/single person make the right choices. Please jump over and have a look and don’t be afraid to drop me a line if you feel led to share your story.

#3 – My absolute favorite books and movies are generally historical. One of my favorite books “Desiree” is about a silk merchant’s daughter from Paris who has a friendship with general Napoleon, but ends up marrying the marshal Bernadotte, from the french army – who then gets adopted by the Swedish king and voila: Desiree becomes Queen of Sweden. It’s a work of fiction but historically interesting as the Swedish royal family name is Bernadotte.

#4 – I don’t do facebook. While I do have an account (all in Danish) it’s only to maintain contact to my family there. But truthfully, I don’t use it much and rarely check the newsfeed.

Her Majesty Queen Alex of Tokyo

#5 – My favorite food is… simple, easy and healthy meals. They don’t grow on trees but I find that “stonesoup.com” is a massive inspiration… and my daughter is sensitive to gluten so ingredients needs to be chosen carefully.

#6 – I love beautiful green gardens and balconies. But I suck at keeping it green…

#7 – I have 5 goldfish in two aquariums, a rabbit and my daughter has a hamster. Can’t help it; I just love pets!

Liebster Blog Award

liebster-award

Thanks so much to my fellow blogger jennifer deg for nominating me for the Liebster Award! What an honor! I’m surprised to receive this award and very happy – thank you Jennifer for noticing my blog and thinking it’s worth it!

Just in case and before I get to the questions and my nominees:
For those who don’t know what this award is, here are a few facts about it according to wordingwell.com:

  • This award exists only on the internet, and is given to bloggers by other bloggers.
  • It has German origins – the word “liebster” has several definitions: dearest, sweetest, kindest, nicest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing, welcome, sweetheart and boyfriend (really?)
  • It follows similar principles as a chain letter, in the sense that it should be passed forward to a certain number of people.
  • It can be misconstrued, depending upon your personal views, as either something wonderful (who doesn’t like awards?) or as an annoyance (a chain letter that involves work).

For those of you who don’t know, here are the rules of this honor.

  1. Mention the person who nominated you on your blog and link them.
  2. Answer 11 questions by the person who nominated you.
  3. Nominate 5-11 other bloggers with less than 200 followers and link them below.
  4. Create your own 11 questions for them to answer and let the nominees know that they’ve been nominated.

Okay here are her questions.

1. What is your favorite season and why?
My favorite season is undoubtedly spring time. Everything is new, it’s the season of what we call Easter, a time to ponder and rediscover the meaning of faith, love and life. I love the new flowers and the days gradually getting longer. Here in Tokyo we can enjoy a warming weather without the high humidity and we have beautiful cherry blossoms and plum blossoms in spring and in my birth country I have many special memories from walks in the forest, seeing the new tiny small flowers sprouting and blooming beneath the trees.

2. What advice would you give new bloggers?
Write what you are passionate about. Write because you love to write, not to gain followers. Write because you have something on your heart that perhaps others can benefit from. Just keep writing.

3. How much time per week do you spend on your blog?
That is something which greatly varies! Some weeks I barely look at it. Other weeks, like this one, I spend quite a few hours on it. Compiled I’m sure it would amount to a full day.

4. What was your favorite childhood toy?
For the life of me I can’t remember!
I enjoyed creating doll-houses for Barbie I think, using stones from the garden, wooden blocks, paper etc. We weren’t exactly rich, so buying Barbie stuff was a huge no-go. I had 2 dolls and they were presents from my uncle I think. I also loved the Smurfs. Still have the collection and my daughter had a passing flirt with them, but they got back in the box pretty fast.

5. How has your faith helped you through difficult times?
Jesus has helped me through so much. How He did it has been as different as the difficult times I have/am facing. I think to know the “How”, you probably need to read my blog.

6. You can have a half-hour conversation with any fictional character. Who do you choose? Why?
That would be Queen Elsa of Arrendale. Because she had so much fear and tried to run away from it, yet she learned to love… I identify a great deal with her. I would also just love to watch the sunrise with her from her ice castle…

7. What is your favorite book?
I suppose the Bible doesn’t count for this question, but apart from the Holy Scriptures, I do enjoy humoristic books and Patsy Clairmont can have me in tears of laughter in about 5 seconds. Another favorite is Beth Moore’s “Jesus the one and only” and Lysa TerKeurst “Unglued”.

8. What do you love most about blogging?
Sharing how the Lord works in my life. Sometimes shouting from the rooftops, or in the desert, simply isn’t enough…

9. What one post on your blog are you most proud of?
I’m not sure I can say that I am particularly proud of my posts, but the one I most often think of is “A poem – Look”

10. What three words would you use to describe your self?
I’m a Jesus girl. A deep thinker. Oftentimes very impatient.

11. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be? Why?
Would that rule out the Trans-Siberian railway? or a cruise around the world?
If I had to choose one particular country I would be in trouble! Hawaii, Norway and Iceland are all on the top of my list. I have visited Norway many times in my childhood and as a young person, but time flies… Norway is possibly the most beautiful country God created and I have been told Iceland is right up there on the same scale. Hawaii I would love to visit because I love Hawaiian foods…

—————————————–

And I hereby nominate (and I’m not entirely sure they have less than 200 followers, but here goes):

1.  Hands in the air

2. Livet leves i dag (Norwegian)

3. Lambs servant

4. Pastor Jim Bell’s jottings

5. Lisa Mari (Norwegian)

6. Iceland, I am

And my questions to you:

1. Who are you?

2. What do you like to do the most?

3. If you could meet anyone, dead or alive, who would it be?

4. What are your plans for 2015?

5. Name your favourite books!

6. What’s your favorite photo you took this year?

7. Was there a special moment when you decided to start blogging?

8. You are not leaving your house without…?

9. Potatoes or rice?

10. What is your most prized possession?

11. What is your favorite post that you’ve written? (Please provide link!)

Thanks again Jennifer Deg for thinking of me! I want to encourage those I nominated to take the time to accept this award and pay it forward. Blessings!
